Cornwall Site Named AA Campsite of the Year for South West England 2025–2026

Treloy Touring Park has been named the 2025–2026 South West England Campsite of the Year by the Automobile Association (AA), highlighting continued demand for well-equipped coastal parks in established UK tourism regions.

The recognition places the Newquay-based site among the AA’s top-performing parks, with the organization also awarding it a five-star rating under its grading system. The site offers 223 pitches accommodating motorhomes, caravans, and tents, and is scheduled to reopen for the 2025 season on May 15, aligning with the UK half-term travel period.

Located along the A3059 and within close proximity to Porth Beach and the wider Newquay coastline, the park benefits from access to established leisure infrastructure and strong visitor demand tied to coastal tourism.

On-site amenities include a heated outdoor swimming pool operating daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., modern washroom facilities with 20 individual bathrooms and three family shower rooms, and a mix of hard-standing and grass pitches, some with electric and water hook-ups.

New XL pitches are being introduced for the upcoming season, targeting larger groups and extended-stay visitors, according to CornwallLive.

Additional facilities include a retail shop and café featuring locally sourced products, as well as recreational offerings such as a children’s play area, indoor games room, and walking trails with a woodland setting. The site is also dog-friendly, with dedicated pet facilities including an exercise field and wash station.

Its proximity to Newquay positions the park within reach of established attractions such as Newquay Zoo, Oasis Fun Pools, and Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay, supporting diversified guest itineraries beyond the campsite itself.

For operators in the outdoor hospitality sector, the award underscores the role of facility quality, diversified accommodation options, and proximity to high-demand attractions in driving occupancy and recognition.

The addition of larger pitches and family-oriented amenities reflects a broader trend toward catering to multi-generational travel and longer stays.

Pricing at the site begins at £21 per night for two adults on a non-electric grass pitch, with a minimum two-night stay requirement, indicating continued pressure to balance affordability with upgraded infrastructure.

The AA recognition may also contribute to increased booking visibility during peak travel windows, particularly as domestic tourism remains competitive with international travel options. Reservations are available directly through the park’s website.
