The Dyrt has announced the winners of its 2026 Best Places to Camp Regional Awards, recognizing 60 campgrounds across six U.S. regions based on camper reviews, ratings and overall reputation.
The annual awards, presented by Luxefly Base Camp, divide winners into Top 10 lists for the Central, Midwest, Mountain, Northeast, Pacific and Southeast regions.
Now in its sixth year, the program selects honorees using ratings and reviews from The Dyrt community, along with each campground’s overall reputation and prior accolades.
According to The Dyrt, the 60 winning campgrounds represent a range of camping experiences, including mountain retreats, riverside campgrounds, RV resorts, lakefront destinations and wilderness settings.
The awards are intended to highlight campgrounds that reflect the distinct landscapes and outdoor experiences found across different parts of the United States.
“This is the most exciting time of year at The Dyrt, not only because it’s the height of camping season, but also because it’s time to recognize America’s Best Places to Camp,” Kevin Long, CEO of The Dyrt, said.
“There are some familiar campgrounds, but also plenty of new properties that The Dyrt Community has been discovering and raving about recently,” Long added.
Several campgrounds returned to the rankings after appearing in last year’s awards. In the Central Region, Scoria Pit in North Dakota and The Wall and Big Pine Campground in South Dakota claimed the top three positions after all placing among the top five in 2025.
In the Southeast Region, Landry Vineyards Grape Escape RV Sites in Louisiana moved to the No. 1 spot after appearing on last year’s list.
California had the most regional honorees, with five campgrounds included in the Pacific Region rankings.
The announcement also highlighted findings from The Dyrt’s 2026 Camping Report Presented by Toyota Trucks, which found that 82.4 million Americans spent at least one night camping during 2025.
The Dyrt said its PRO subscription service is designed to help campers locate campsites, access campground information, plan RV trips and save money while traveling.
The 2026 Best Places to Camp Regional Awards are presented by Luxefly Base Camp, which produces chef-crafted freeze-dried meals for camping, backpacking and other outdoor activities.
