Woodbridge Glamping and Wellness at Spring Farm Barn is scheduled to reopen for the 2026 season on May 1 following a winter refurbishment aimed at upgrading guest comfort and expanding its accommodation and wellness offerings.
The eco-friendly site is located in an old apple orchard near reedbeds on the outskirts of Woodbridge in Suffolk, England, within walking distance of the town center.
The reopening marks the site’s 10th anniversary and includes the introduction of a new tree tent, adding to its existing accommodation mix of two bell tents and a shepherd’s hut. Each unit sleeps up to four guests, and the layout is designed to maintain a low-density environment intended to support privacy and a slower-paced outdoor stay experience.
The expansion reflects a broader trend in the outdoor hospitality sector toward diversified and experience-led accommodation types, particularly in the glamping segment.
A second phase of development is scheduled for June 1, when the site will open a new wellness area featuring a bookable hot tub. The facility will be available to both overnight guests and local visitors, a model increasingly used by small-scale operators to extend revenue streams beyond accommodation stays and increase off-season or midweek utilization.
According to the operators, the winter works focused on enhancing the site while maintaining its existing character and ecological setting. The surrounding environment remains a central feature of the guest experience, with wildlife commonly observed on-site, including rabbits, deer, bats, owls, and reedbed bird species.
The farm is also home to three alpacas named Merlin, Prince, and Ringo, which have become a recurring attraction for returning guests, according to SuffolkWire.
“We’ve had great fun developing our eco glamping site over the past decade,” says Tuuli Litchfield. “Our aim has always been to share this beautiful and unique environment with others, a place where wildlife, farm animals, and comfortable outdoor accommodation sit side by side, just ten minutes’ walk from the heart of Woodbridge.”
The site’s location within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty places it within a wider regional tourism context that combines rural accommodation with access to Woodbridge’s independent retail, dining, and riverside walking routes.
This positioning continues to be relevant for operators in the outdoor hospitality sector seeking to balance seclusion with proximity to established visitor infrastructure.
Bookings for the 2026 season are currently open, with demand typically concentrated around peak spring and summer periods, as well as wellness-focused short breaks.
