RV Industry Association 2025 Annual Report Highlights Legislative Wins, Workforce Growth, and Younger RV Buyers

The 2025 Annual Report from the RV Industry Association (RVIA) outlines a year of legislative progress, workforce expansion, and consumer engagement for the RV sector, even as the industry navigated broader economic challenges.

The report positions the RV industry as a significant contributor to the $1.1 trillion outdoor recreation economy and emphasizes continued efforts to strengthen workforce development, improve policy conditions for businesses, and attract a new generation of RV owners.

Among the report’s key developments are several advocacy outcomes affecting RV manufacturers and dealers.

These include reforms to the de minimis exemption and a legislative adjustment to the 2017 tax cuts that allows RV dealers to fully deduct interest on floorplan loans for non-motorized towable trailers.

Workforce development also emerged as a central focus in the report. RVIA expanded technician training through partnerships with Navarro College in Texas and Littleton Public Schools’ EPIC Campus in Colorado. These collaborations are designed to increase the pipeline of skilled workers entering the RV service sector.

The report also indicates that technician certification across the industry reached new milestones.

More than 7,500 certified RV technicians are now working nationwide, while nearly 1,000 dealerships employ at least one certified technician.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on March 9, consumer research included in the report provides insight into changing demographics among RV buyers.

The 2025 RV Owner Demographic Profile shows that the median age of RV owners has dropped to 49. The research also indicates that 16.9 million households report an intention to purchase an RV, suggesting continued interest from prospective buyers.

Industry events also played a role in strengthening collaboration among manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, and other stakeholders. The report highlights gatherings such as the Leadership Conference, RVs Move America Week, and the RV Aftermarket Conference as forums where industry leaders discussed policy priorities, market conditions, and operational challenges.

Marketing and consumer outreach initiatives were another focus of the report. Go RVing launched its “Just Beyond Your Door” campaign, which uses storytelling and multi-platform marketing to reach younger and first-time audiences.

Another highlight is the experiential marketing events. These were conducted across the United States, allowing more than 70,000 consumers to tour RVs in person. These events introduced thousands of potential buyers to the RV lifestyle.

The report also notes the fourth annual All-Industry Volunteer Day organized through the Emerging Leaders Coalition. More than 300 volunteers participated in the initiative, reflecting the industry’s ongoing focus on community engagement and collaboration.
