Greene County to Review Revised Campground Regulations Following Work Session

Greene County Planner Lyn Ashburn submitted an updated draft of proposed campground regulations to planning commission members ahead of their Tuesday meeting.

The revisions reflect changes made during a recent two-hour work session and sections Ashburn believes may attract significant public feedback.

If approved during the Planning Commission’s 1 p.m. meeting on Tuesday, the proposed campground regulations could be placed on the agenda for consideration by the full Greene County Commission.

The work session, held last week, focused on refining the first draft of the regulations. Ashburn explained that if the Planning Commission is not ready to recommend the updated proposal, she will present a simplified version as an alternative at the meeting.

According to an article published by 99.5 WGRV, if the planning commission recommends the shortened version of the proposal, county staff would reintroduce the remaining portions of the resolution at a later date, seeking approval to revise the proposal by incorporating the additional information.

The proposed campground regulations in Greene County are of critical importance to campground owners and RV park operators.

Staying informed in the decision-making process ensures that operators can adapt their strategies and maintain compliance while advocating for fair and balanced policies that support growth and profitability in the outdoor hospitality sector.
