The rise of glamping or glamorous camping, has been making waves in the hospitality industry, and South Carolina State Parks are riding this wave with the introduction of new hike-in canvas tent sites.
These sites, currently available at Edisto Beach State Park and Table Rock State Park, offer a unique camping experience for outdoor enthusiasts who prefer not to bring their own tents.
The new Tentrr sites, six at Table Rock State Park near the Hemlock Shelter and five at Edisto Beach State Park near the Environmental Learning Center are equipped with a double bed with a memory foam mattress, Adirondack chairs, a camp table, a fire pit, a water carrier, a fire extinguisher, and a trash can.
While the sites do not have water or electricity, and no sheets, blankets, or pillows are provided, they do offer cell and wireless coverage. The canvas tent is set on a raised platform, and restrooms and showers are located nearby.
The concept of glamping has been gaining popularity as it combines the adventure of camping with the comfort of traditional lodging services.
It allows people to experience the great outdoors without sacrificing the luxuries they’re accustomed to.
The rise of glamping has been seen not just in South Carolina, but across the United States, with private landowners and state parks alike getting into the glamping game.
