RVIA Survey: RV Wholesale Loans Top $13.3 Billion in 2025

The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has released its 2025 Survey of Lenders’ Experiences, reporting more than $13.3 billion in RV wholesale loan volume and over $10.4 billion in retail indirect loans funded during the year, underscoring the scale of financing activity across the U.S. RV market.

The nationwide survey compiles data from financial institutions that collectively account for approximately 80% of RV lending activity in the United States.

According to the association, the report provides an in-depth analysis of both wholesale and retail indirect RV lending markets, offering lenders and industry stakeholders insight into portfolio performance and lending activity.

The survey found that RV wholesale loans exceeded $13.3 billion in 2025. On the retail side, reporting institutions originated more than 220,000 indirect loans to consumers during the year, representing more than $10.4 billion in funded loans.

The report also highlights broader industry performance, noting that the RV industry experienced modest growth despite what it described as an unpredictable business environment. Wholesale RV shipments reached 342,220 units in 2025, with a retail value totaling $20.40 billion.

According to the association, the survey demonstrates that RV loans remain an attractive lending product for financial institutions. By documenting the stability and potential profitability of RV lending portfolios, the report is intended to help RV industry members educate banks and other financial institutions about opportunities within the RV finance market.

The association said the long-term outlook for the RV industry remains encouraging.

The Survey of Lenders’ Experiences is published annually to provide financial institutions and industry participants with data on RV lending activity and market conditions.

The association said the report serves as a resource for understanding lending trends and the performance of RV loan portfolios across the wholesale and retail indirect financing sectors.

The RVIA, which marks 50 years of service to the industry, maintains offices in the Washington, D.C., area and Elkhart, Indiana.

The association represents more than 430 manufacturers and component and aftermarket suppliers that collectively produce 98% of RVs manufactured in the United States and approximately 60% of RVs produced worldwide. It also supports industry standards, consumer market development, technician training and legislative advocacy on behalf of the RV industry.
