Heather Jenks, vice president of sales at Genesis Products, leads strategic sales planning, warranty operations, and customer alignment efforts for the company’s RV interior product lines while serving on the board of the RV Industry Association (RVIA).
Genesis Products supplies laminated panels, wood components and custom-molded solutions to manufacturers in the recreational vehicle, manufactured housing and other sectors.
In her current role, Jenks oversees strategic planning for the RV sales pipeline and works with product and marketing teams to align the company’s value proposition with manufacturer expectations and end-user experience.
“I help with strategic planning for the RV sales pipeline while working alongside the team to grow business across all our interior product lines,” Jenks said in a News and Insights report of RVIA on March 3.
“I help create and deliver our value proposition to manufacturers, keeping the end user in mind,” Jenks added.
Jenks began her career in sales at Welch Packaging before joining Doors Plus, where she focused on residential interiors, doors and stair systems for stick-built and manufactured housing.
She joined Genesis in 2007 as an outside sales representative and was promoted to vice president of sales in 2014 after 11 years in housing-related sales roles.
In addition to sales leadership, Jenks oversees Genesis’ warranty department.
“Our goal is for end users to have an enjoyable experience, so they continue camping,” she said. “Seeing warranty issues firsthand helps develop and sell better products in the future.”
Genesis manufactures most of the interior products it offers and custom-makes parts from start to finish, with a focus on cost-effective production and alignment between customer expectations and manufacturing capabilities.
The company recently sent its senior leadership team on an RV camping trip to better understand how consumers experience interior products.
“We went on the trip because it’s difficult to create interior solutions in RVs if we don’t understand how the end user is experiencing it,” Jenks said, noting the team also discussed durability and price-point improvements.
Beyond her corporate role, Jenks serves on the RVIA board and four committees: Government Affairs, Market Information, Campground Coalition and Awards.
“One of the key takeaways in my time on the Board is just how much the Association does behind the scenes,” she said. “It’s reassuring to know we have a team that advocates for us daily.”
