The RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) held its annual awards ceremony on October 17, concluding two days of education and networking designed to empower women within the recreational vehicle industry.
The event, attended by industry professionals, celebrated outstanding contributions in four key categories: the Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Leader of Tomorrow Award, and two Champion of Women Awards, one for an individual and another for a company. Winners were selected from a diverse group of finalists, highlighting women’s significant impact in this traditionally male-dominated field.
Monika Geraci, an RVWA’s board member and the lead of the award taskforce, emphasized the importance of recognizing these achievements. “The RV Women’s Alliance is proud to honor the remarkable women and companies who are making a difference in our industry,” she stated in a News and Insights report by RVIA.
“By celebrating these champions, we’re building a brighter future where women can thrive.” The awards aimed to honor individual accomplishments and inspire future leaders in the RV sector.
The highest accolade, the Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Achievement, was awarded to Lori Severson, the owner of Severson and Associates. This award acknowledges individuals who have made significant strides in advancing the RV industry while paving the way for other women.
Geraci praised Severson’s extensive contributions, stating, “Lori’s impact extends far beyond her own achievements. She’s not only reached incredible heights in her career but paved the way for countless women in the campground industry. That’s true leadership.”
Severson has been a pivotal figure in the Wisconsin camping industry, serving as the executive director of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners and as an owner of the Campground Owners Expo. Her advocacy involves collaborating with legislators and industry stakeholders to drive positive change. Furthermore, she is committed to empowering women by offering mentorship and support.
The Leader of Tomorrow Award, which recognizes emerging leaders in the RV industry, was presented to Analli Munoz, a member of Grand Design. Munoz is noted for her ability to create an inclusive workplace and for her strategic focus on business success. Her bilingual skills have allowed her to enhance workplace culture, facilitating initiatives that celebrate diversity, such as Hispanic Heritage events.
Munoz is also recognized for her efforts in promoting employee well-being, overseeing the establishment of a new clinic, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance the physical work environment.
The Champion of Women Awards, awarded to individuals and companies making significant efforts to elevate women in the RV sector, were also presented during the ceremony. Kelly Mosher from Forest River received the individual Champion of Women Award for her commitment to supporting and mentoring women in her organization. As the leader of the Customer Service Department, she has developed a successful training hub that provides essential resources for employees at all levels.
RV Trader received the company Champion of Women Award for its ongoing initiatives to promote women’s involvement in the RV industry. The company has implemented various educational resources aimed at female RVers.
