Park4night Expands U.S. Presence to Make RV Travel Easier and Help RV Parks, Campgrounds

Park4night, an app in Europe for sharing places and services for RVs and campervans, is accelerating its push into the United States market, using major RV trade shows, local partnerships, and new booking features to grow its community-driven travel platform beyond its European base.

In an exclusive interview with Modern Campground, Mathilde Yonnet-Liberty, project & communications manager, said the company’s participation in the 2026 Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa is a strategic step in building brand presence and industry relationships in North America.

She described the event as a key gateway to one of the world’s most active RV communities.

She said attending the show allows park4night to connect directly with travelers and campground professionals while gaining insight into user expectations in the U.S. market. The company aims to strengthen awareness and demonstrate how its tools can support both trip planning and campground visibility.

At the SuperShow, park4night presented its core app features, including an interactive global map listing more than 370,000 locations, along with user reviews and community photos. The platform covers campgrounds, RV parks, farms, picnic areas, parking spots, and nature locations.

Visitors were also offered three-month promotional codes to test park4night+, the premium version of the app.

Yonnet-Liberty said the paid tier includes offline access, advanced filters, and route planning tools designed for longer and more remote trips.

Supporting Campgrounds and RV Parks

The company also highlighted professional-facing tools for campground and RV park operators, including visibility options and advertising opportunities inside the app.

She said the goal is to help businesses convert discovery into bookings.

Park4night helps campgrounds and RV parks attract visitors by allowing establishments to list their locations free of charge to a large international community of active users.

In recent years, the platform has expanded partnerships to enable reservations for certain locations directly through the app, making it easier for travelers to plan and book stays in advance.

For operators seeking enhanced visibility, park4night offers premium services that highlight private locations. Premium listings appear at the top of search results and on the interactive map, and include contact details and direct booking links to help convert views into reservations.

Depending on the selected package, establishments can also leverage geolocated advertising and social media campaigns, giving them additional tools to reach more travelers and improve the overall guest experience.

How park4night began and expansion goals

Founded in 2011 by two French entrepreneurs, park4night began as a simple location-sharing tool for overnight parking and rest stops. Yonnet-Liberty said early growth was driven by travelers contributing places, photos, and comments.

“That community spirit fueled rapid growth,” she said, noting the app reached its first million users seven years after launch and now counts nearly 9 million members worldwide.

The platform is available on iOS, Android, and the web, and is free to use with an optional paid upgrade. Yonnet-Liberty said continuous feature development and community moderation have supported long-term adoption.

Expansion into the U.S. followed what she called a “natural step,” driven by the size and maturity of the American RV sector and its strong road travel culture. Organic usage trends also played a role.

According to Yonnet-Liberty, park4night reached 140,000 users in the United States in 2025 before launching a more structured local growth strategy. That momentum encouraged deeper investment in partnerships and localized tools.

The U.S. approach centers on building relationships with campgrounds and RV parks, adapting features to local needs, and delivering tailored content for American users. The company is also studying additional trade show participation and RV association memberships.

Globally, park4night operates in more than 100 countries and manages a database of about 380,000 locations and more than 4.2 million community comments. Yonnet-Liberty said global scale brings operational complexity due to differing regulations and local conditions.

To manage rising content volume, the company uses a multilingual moderation team and is gradually adding artificial intelligence as a decision-support tool. She said AI is being introduced within a responsible framework focused on moderation efficiency.

Outdoor Hospitality Trends

Yonnet-Liberty also told Modern Campground several industry trends shaping product development, including continued interest in van travel, rising environmental awareness, and stronger demand for digital trip planning tools.

She said more travelers now check availability and book sites online before arrival. In response, park4night added in-app booking for more than 5,000 locations.

User demographics skew toward mature travelers, with the largest age groups between 55 and 64 and 65 and older. The global audience is about 63.7% male and 36.3% female, while spanning vanlifers, digital nomads, families, and retirees.

Looking ahead, Yonnet-Liberty said U.S. priorities include new partnerships, enhanced booking features, and market-specific filters.

“Our mission remains the same,” she said, “to make RV travel easier, more transparent, and more inspiring for everyone.”
