New Owners Rebrand Fort Rock Campground as Coyote Ridge

Coyote Ridge Campground, formerly known as Rock Horse RV Park, has been taken over by new owners, Quinn and Alyssa Nelson. Located at 74543 Highway 31 in Fort Rock, Oregon, the campground is set to offer new experiences for visitors and locals alike. The Nelsons, originally registered nurses from Battle Ground, Washington, are bringing their vision of natural living to the Oregon Outback.

According to an article published by Lake County Examiner, the couple’s journey to campground ownership began six years ago when they met while snowboarding at Mt. Hood Ski Resort. Sharing a common dream of living in a rural setting, they embarked on a six-month van journey across the United States, exploring national parks and various states before settling in Fort Rock.

Coyote Ridge Campground offers a variety of amenities for guests, including campsites with water and electric hookups suitable for motorhomes, travel trailers, and vans, as well as tent spaces. The campground is equipped with bathrooms, showers, and a laundry area, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors.

Additionally, the on-site camp store, recently renovated, provides a range of goods such as snacks, beverages, and other essentials for those looking to explore the surrounding area.

Visitors to Coyote Ridge can engage in a variety of outdoor activities, with opportunities for rockhounding, stargazing, hiking, and more. Fort Rock itself is known for its historic sites, including Hole-in-the-Ground and the Homestead Village Museum.

In addition to its outdoor amenities, Coyote Ridge Campground features an on-site stage for weekend events, enhancing the guest experience with live entertainment. An event under the new ownership is set for Friday, August 30, at the start of Labor Day weekend, featuring a performance by singer-songwriter Jesse Meade.

Guests wishing to attend the concert can reserve a campsite and enjoy the full range of festivities, including the opportunity to sleep under the stars in Fort Rock’s dark sky. The beer garden will be open from 5–9 p.m., with live music scheduled from 7–10 p.m. For those interested only in the music, there is a $7 cover charge, with doors opening to the public at 4 p.m.
