OHI Foundation Opens Scholarship Applications for George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality

The OHI Foundation has opened scholarship applications for the George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality, offering financial assistance to campground and RV park professionals seeking management and leadership training through the industry education program.

According to the organization, the scholarship program is intended to expand access to the National School for owners, operators and managers who want to pursue professional development but may face financial barriers to attending.

Each scholarship includes full tuition and a $500 credit toward room and board. Recipients will remain responsible for additional expenses, including travel and remaining lodging costs.

Applications are due June 30. The OHI Foundation said scholarship recipients will be announced during the week of August 10.

According to a press release, Terry Munoz, chair of the OHI Foundation Board, said the organization views the scholarships as a way to increase access to professional education within the outdoor hospitality sector.

“One of the greatest privileges of the OHI Foundation is being able to put opportunities like this within reach for more people in our industry,” Munoz said. “The George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality is exceptional, and we’re honored to help fund your path there.”

The George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality is scheduled for February 21-26, 2027, at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia.

The program will feature two educational tracks. The Outdoor Hospitality Manager Year 1 track is designed for emerging and current managers, while the Outdoor Hospitality Professional Year 2 track is aimed at experienced professionals focused on long-term growth and leadership strategy.

Douglas Davis of Douglas Forest RV Resort described the program as a valuable professional development experience based on his previous attendance.

“Attending the [George O’Leary National School] in Wheeling, West Virginia was an incredible experience,” Davis said. “The event was a masterclass in hospitality excellence, and I walked away with new connections, fresh ideas, and a renewed drive to elevate my own projects.”

The OHI Foundation said the National School scholarships are funded through the organization’s ongoing support initiatives for the outdoor hospitality industry.
