Blue Bay Campground in Montana is gearing up for a busy summer season, following recent upgrades to enhance the outdoor experience. The camping area now includes a new playground, additional full-service RV sites, and a bear-proof garbage enclosure.
The CSKT Wildland Recreation staff, who manage the campground, have been working on projects to improve the visitor experience. One of the upgrades includes renovating the lakefront building, which now features new windows, fresh paint, and a new railing.
The railing, designed by Verner Rose, features laser-cut panels depicting local wildlife. This building, available for events and gatherings, now offers an improved space for visitors. Additionally, the fishing dock at Blue Bay has seen improvements. It has been widened and reconstructed, with a new railing and fence.
According to an article published by Char-Koosta News on June 7, Wildland Recreation Program Manager Todd Espinoza expressed excitement about the completed projects, stating, “We’re excited to showcase the progress we’ve made over the past couple of years.”
In addition to the improvements, Blue Bay Campground is introducing a kayak rental service this summer. Both adult and youth kayaks will be available. Adult kayaks can be rented for $20 for two hours and $35 for four hours, while youth kayaks are available at $15 for two hours and $25 for four hours.
The recent upgrades at Blue Bay Campground underscore the importance of continually enhancing amenities and introducing new activities to attract outdoor enthusiasts. Investing in improvements like full-service RV sites elevates the visitor experience. Adding recreational options such as a playground and a kayak rental service diversifies attractions, catering to various age groups and interests. This approach not only boosts the campground’s appeal but also encourages repeat visits this summer season.
Peak season at Blue Bay Campground runs from May 1 to September 30, while the off-season spans from October 1 to April 30. For more information about the campground, visit csktnrd.org/blue-bay.
