The proposed development of an RV park in Fife Lake in Michigan, which had been previously scrapped by its developers, has decided to move their rezoning request, according to The Ticker report.
Fife Lake’s downtown area boasts an array of shops, galleries, and eateries, all conveniently located just a stone’s throw from the lake’s edge. Spanning 617 acres, Fife Lake is a haven for enthusiasts of all water sports, offering outstanding opportunities for fishing, boating, and swimming in its pristine waters.
According to The Ticker news report, Fife Lake Village President Tom Hempsted confirmed that, despite an initial email indicating their intention to withdraw their rezoning request for a 25-acre parcel located just east of U.S. 131 and south of State Street in the northwest corner of the village, the developers have changed their decision.
This reversal means that the Fife Lake Village Council is set to vote on the rezoning request in their upcoming meeting as early as March 18.
“We’re either going to deny it or approve it. It’s going to be one or the other. We’re not going to table this another month,” Hempsted said, as quoted in The Ticker report.
This expansion has raised concerns among the community regarding potential noise, pollution, and environmental impacts. Additionally, there are worries about the adequacy of the existing water and sewer infrastructure to support the increased demand that would come with such a development.
