In the previous episode of MC Fireside Chats, sponsored by Horizon Outdoor Hospitality, the conversation started with Sharon and Tony Turner discussing their experiences operating the Glamping Retro site in Tennessee. They highlighted the necessity of providing a unique and comfortable experience for their guests, with amenities such as a hot tub, fire pit, and grill. They also noted that their accommodation options range from treehouses and airstreams to bell tents.

Adrian and Carol Passos, owners of Caracol Glamping in the UK, conveyed that their accommodation offerings include shepherd’s huts, bell tents, and a renovated horse box. They too emphasized the significance of delivering a unique and comfortable guest experience.

Zach Stoltenberg underscored the necessity of providing distinctive and comfortable guest experiences, particularly as the glamping market becomes increasingly saturated. He suggested that glamping sites could differentiate themselves by offering unique experiences and amenities.

The critical role of marketing in the glamping industry was also touched upon, with social media being highlighted as an essential tool for promoting their sites and attracting guests. The panelists also discussed the importance of narrating the story of their sites and building a strong brand. Regarding the potential for growth in the glamping industry, they considered the possibilities of site expansion, the addition of more accommodations, and hosting events like weddings.

The panelists further addressed the challenges involved in running a glamping site. These included the seasonal nature of the business, which could pose problems for revenue and operations, as well as the difficulties in maintaining their sites and providing a high standard of service to their guests.

The episode concluded with a discussion on the future of the glamping industry. The panelists expressed optimism for the sector’s potential for growth and innovation. They conveyed their excitement about glamping’s potential to continue evolving and providing unique and memorable experiences for guests.
