58th Northeast Conference on Camping & Trade Show Set for March

The Northeast Campground Association (NCA) is gearing up for its 58th annual Northeast Conference on Camping & Trade Show, a significant event in the campground and RV park industry.

In the January 17th episode of Modern Campground Fireside Chats, Marcia Galvin, president of the Board of Directors of the NCA, talked about the conference.

Set to take place from March 21-23, 2024, at the Southbridge Hotel & Conference Center in Southbridge, Massachusetts, Galvin provided valuable insights into the event’s offerings and significance.

Since its first conference in 1965, the NCA has been a pivotal force in the camping industry, focusing on the growth and development of camping through networking and education

The 58th conference continues this tradition, offering a platform for campground owners, operators, and outdoor hospitality professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, learn from industry experts, and explore new trends.

“We’re going to be having some different speakers. We have a sergeant coming in to talk about guest experiences and how to, best deal with the current climate that we have out there and some of the challenges that campground owners face when, a guest comes in and they’re not up on the camping etiquette that they should be or, familiar with following the rules and guidelines that a campground would have,” she added.

This session is particularly relevant in today’s context, where understanding and managing guest behavior is crucial for maintaining a harmonious campground environment. The sergeant’s experience in campground operations adds a practical perspective to this discussion.

A highlight of the 2024 conference is the introduction of a book club, an innovative approach to professional development in the campground industry. Led by Galvin, the book club will focus on “The Ideal Team Player.” This book provides insights into building a positive workplace culture, a critical aspect for campground and RV park operators. The discussion will revolve around finding the right staff and extending the positive culture to guests.

The conference is not just an educational event but also a networking opportunity for professionals in the outdoor hospitality industry. Attendees will have the chance to connect with peers, share experiences, and learn from each other’s successes and challenges. This networking aspect is vital for fostering a sense of community and collaboration among campground and RV park owners.

The trade show component of the conference offers attendees a chance to explore the latest products, services, and technologies in the camping industry. This is an excellent opportunity for campground owners to find new solutions to enhance their operations and guest experiences.

The NCA’s commitment to the promotion and growth of camping is evident in its continuous effort to provide valuable resources and learning opportunities for its members. The annual conference plays a crucial role in this, offering a comprehensive program that addresses various aspects of campground management and operations.

For campground and RV park owners, the conference is an invaluable resource for staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. It provides a roadmap for navigating the complexities of the outdoor hospitality industry while ensuring a high-quality experience for guests.
