Kunes Auto & RV Group announced the formation of Delavan Holdings, a new umbrella company overseeing its diverse portfolio. This strategic move aims to streamline operations across the group’s more than 45 dealerships and various ventures, including an auto financing company, an e-commerce fulfillment center, a lakeside resort, and a youth retreat center.
Alongside this organizational restructuring, Delavan Holdings appointed Dan Haave as its chief human resources Officer (CHRO). Haave brings 25 years of experience from Kohl’s, a Fortune 150 company based in Milwaukee, where he most recently served as vice president of human resources, overseeing the needs of more than 6,000 associates nationwide.
At Delavan Holdings, Haave will manage all aspects of human resources across the organization, including talent acquisition, talent management, employee development and learning initiatives, employee relations, and compensation and benefits programs.
Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Haave said, “In the Midwest, the Kunes name is synonymous with generosity. I’m delighted to become part of an organization with such a clear commitment to giving back.”
Scott Kunes, chief operating officer at Kunes Auto Group, welcomed the new appointment, noting that Dan brings a wealth of experience to his new role and expressing that the company is fortunate to have his knowledge and guidance for Delavan Holdings, through which he will steer their family of businesses forward.
Founded in 1996 in Delavan, Wisconsin, Kunes Auto Group has grown to over 40 locations across the Midwest, demonstrating its dedication to employees, customers, and communities through numerous “Automotive News’ Best Dealerships to Work For” awards, receiving up to 10 such awards annually and over 30 total dealership-wide.
The formation of Delavan Holdings and the appointment of Dan Haave as CHRO come at a time when the Kunes Group is strengthening its community support and philanthropy efforts. The Kunes Family Foundation, established by the group, pledged to donate 10% of their profits annually to various charitable causes and organizations.
