Jellystone Parks Lead the Way in Environmental Conservation Efforts Across North America

Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, known for their Yogi Bear-themed locations, are increasingly taking steps to protect the environment and promote sustainability. From planting thousands of trees to implementing water and energy-saving practices, these parks are leading the way in green initiatives across the United States and Canada.

As per a release, one shining example of this commitment to environmental conservation can be found at the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Caledonia, Wisconsin.

Co-owner Bridget Bender recently announced plans to plant 2,000 oaks, maples, cedars, and pines around the park and an adjacent property over the next five years.

The goal is to create a forest for guests to enjoy and reduce the park’s carbon footprint as a company. Bender has set an ambitious target of becoming a net zero emissions company within the next decade.

But Caledonia is not the only Jellystone Park location that is going green. Parks across North America are implementing various sustainable practices to protect the environment and promote eco-friendly camping experiences.

For instance, Jellystone Park in Bath, New York, focuses on recycling bottles and cardboard while providing guests with recycling bags upon check-in and equipping the park with automatic shut-off lights to save energy.

In Cave City, Kentucky, registration is handled electronically, and receipts are sent via email to reduce paper usage. The park also uses timers for its lights to save energy.

The Jellystone Park in Endicott, New York, is dedicated to creating a better water ecosystem for its fish and pond life. The park uses water aeration systems to ensure a healthy aquatic environment.

In Eureka, Missouri, the park encourages guests to conserve electricity by turning off or lowering their air-conditioning units when they leave for the day. They have also posted signs in cabins to promote energy conservation.

At the Jellystone Park in Glen Ellis, New Hampshire, water bottle filling stations have been installed throughout the campground to encourage guests to use reusable bottles. The park also offers paperless check-in and has sensor-activated lighting in its new bathhouse to save energy.

In Harrisville, Pennsylvania, the park has been recognized with the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ Plan-it-Green Award multiple times for its exceptional water, energy, and recycling initiatives. The park has invested in motion-activated faucets and lights, a solar-heated swimming pool, high-efficiency toilets, tankless water heaters, and a paperless reservation system. Additionally, the park’s walkways are made of all-natural materials, and even the laser tag battlefield is constructed from recycled or repurposed materials.

The Jellystone Park in Jamestown, New York, has switched all its security lights to LED lights with photo sensors to reduce energy usage. The park also minimizes paper usage by not printing receipts unless requested, and recycling is provided at its campsites.

In Lower Woodstock, New Brunswick, the park uses ionized water for cleaning and sanitation, using a machine called Tersano that electrifies water without chemicals, protecting the environment and saving money simultaneously.

The Jellystone Park in Millbrook, Illinois, has implemented automatic sinks in its comfort station and automatic outdoor lights that turn on at dusk and off at dawn to save energy.

In Pelahatchie, Mississippi, the park is in the process of changing all its lighting to LED bulbs, which are not only energy-saving but also have a longer lifespan. The park also put its guest waivers online and reduced welcome packets to conserve paper.

In Pittsfield, Illinois, the park is developing a paperless check-in and risk waiver process for guests and has automatic shutoff devices in its sinks and showers in the main bathhouses.

In addition to these specific initiatives, Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts are taking a holistic approach to environmental conservation. Many locations have implemented comprehensive recycling programs, composting systems, and water conservation measures, such as low-flow showers and toilets. They also prioritize using eco-friendly cleaning products, promoting responsible firewood usage to prevent the spread of invasive species, and reducing single-use plastics throughout their facilities.

The management of Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts believes that protecting the environment is not only the responsible thing to do, but it also enhances the camping experience for their guests.

Many campers increasingly seek eco-friendly accommodations that align with their values and offer opportunities to connect with nature sustainably. By prioritizing environmental conservation, Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts are protecting the planet for future generations and providing a unique and meaningful camping experience for their guests.

As the demand for sustainable tourism and eco-friendly travel options grows, Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts are leading the way in environmental conservation efforts across North America. From tree planting initiatives, energy-saving measures, water conservation practices, and recycling programs, these parks set a high standard for responsible camping and outdoor recreation. Through their commitment to sustainability,

Isn’t it amazing how Jellystone Parks are all about environmental sustainability? Lake Monroe, Indiana, is into solar panels for energy efficiency, and Luray, Virginia, is doing wonders for wildlife conservation. Personally, I think they’re setting a great example!
