A New Family-Oriented Campground Destination in Madison County Set to Open

Madison County officials in Indiana will cut the ribbon on Mystic Waters, a 38-acre campground destination in Pendleton, this Friday.

The site not only offers cabins and space for RV and tent camping but also features facilities for various events, such as weddings and corporate retreats.

Owner Lisa Holverson did not disclose the financial investment in the development but noted that it would employ up to 15 people during its busiest season. Our vision was to turn this property into a stellar family campground based on our love for the great outdoors,” Holverson said in a news release.

“We have brought life to a property with so much potential. We hope that local residents can be proud of their new gateway to Pendleton,” Holverson added.

Mystic Waters aims to cater to families by providing a variety of recreational options. Holverson said the location features family-friendly activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and yoga.

The development includes two larger buildings known as The Lodge and The Shelter, which Holverson said could be rented for special events. Additionally, there is “a significant amount of space” for larger event tents.

Mystic Waters plans to continuously improve and expand its offerings in the forthcoming seasons as it establishes itself in the region.

The campground management commits to ongoing property renovations and feature updates throughout the upcoming seasons.

The opening of Mystic Waters highlights the growing trend of privately-owned campgrounds offering diverse amenities and experiences for families seeking outdoor recreational opportunities.

Private campground owners and operators can benefit from expanding their offerings and services, as seen with Mystic Waters, to cater to various needs and interests, attracting a wider range of clientele.

The growth of private campgrounds, such as Mystic Waters, can have a significant economic impact on local communities.

By creating job opportunities and attracting tourists, these establishments contribute to the local economy and generate revenue for businesses in the area, benefiting the overall community.
