Hipcamp, a campsite booking company, partnered with Subaru of America to launch a resource of 10 electric vehicle-ready road trips across the United States. This aims to transform how travelers explore America’s diverse landscapes while prioritizing sustainability and accessibility.
The new feature, marking Hipcamp’s first road trip resource, showcases routes spanning the entire country. These journeys include iconic routes like Route 66, the California coast, and the Chihuahuan Desert in Texas.
A key aspect of this partnership is the emphasis on electric vehicle accessibility. Due to Hipcamp’s growing host network and expanding EV infrastructure nationwide, more than 80% of Hipcamp sites are now conveniently located near publicly accessible EV charging stations.
To enhance the planning process, campers can use Hipcamp’s EV charging station map layer to strategically plan their stops and ensure a seamless journey.
Alyssa Ravasio, founder and CEO of Hipcamp, explained that the company’s mission is to encourage more people to spend time outdoors. She highlighted that their new collection of routes, which prioritize EV-charging opportunities, aims to simplify planning outdoor adventures.
“We are here to make your camp experience all the better, and have shared some of our top points of interest and national parks,” Ravasio said.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to outdoor accessibility. Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing at Subaru of America expressed that Subaru believes everyone deserves access to the outdoors and its beauty.
He expressed excitement about the partnership with Hipcamp, which aims to provide a resource to help drivers and their friends and family explore.
Among the highlighted routes, the Blue Ridge Parkway offers diverse experiences. Starting in Shenandoah National Park and winding to the Smoky Mountains, this route encompasses two national parks, Asheville, and waterfall hikes.
The California Coast route starts in Redwood National and State Park and takes travelers south along the West Coast. Highlights include Glass Beach, Capitola Beach, and Huntington State Beach, with the final destination being Cabrillo National Monument.
