Few & Far Brings Bespoke Wilderness Experiences to Yellowstone and Tetons

Few & Far, a luxury glamping operator founded by Sarah and Jacob Dusek, recently launched private trips in the Western United States, offering temporary, fully equipped campsites near national parks and other natural destinations.

The company, which is an extension of the Under Canvas brand, provides bespoke travel experiences that combine comfort with access to remote landscapes, aiming to balance guest amenities with environmental sustainability.

The campsites, which have been set up in locations such as Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Mendocino, are solar-powered and designed to leave minimal environmental impact, reflecting Few & Far’s approach to low-footprint travel. The company emphasizes temporary setups, with sites returning to their natural state once trips conclude.

Michelle Holdener of Wild Productions, which manages the operational aspects of the Few & Far camps, described the remote locations as places where “cows outnumber people here two to one.” The camps feature luxury safari tents surrounding a base camp that includes a lounge area, dining facilities, a wood-burning sauna, and firepits.

According to Sunset, guests participate in curated activities designed to integrate local culture and natural landscapes. For example, Yellowstone Hat Co. provides on-site hat-making sessions with owners Russ Fry and Susan Byerly, while local chefs and wellness providers deliver live-fire dinners, spa services, and guided experiences such as paragliding over the Gallatin Range.

“Memories are something nobody can ever take from you,” said cowboy poet John Clark, reflecting the emphasis on creating unique experiences for guests.

Sarah and Jacob Dusek, through their investment firm Enygma Ventures, have a history of supporting women-led enterprises across Africa, and they aim to bring a similar ethos of empowerment and restoration to the travel sector.

For outdoor hospitality professionals, the Few & Far model illustrates how temporary luxury accommodations can combine high-end service with sustainability practices, highlighting the growing consumer demand for environmentally conscious, experiential travel.

For operators in the glamping and outdoor hospitality sectors, Few & Far demonstrates several key trends: integration of locally sourced experiences, temporary yet immersive accommodation setups, and operations that balance guest comfort with environmental stewardship.

These approaches may offer a model for new developments seeking to appeal to travelers prioritizing both luxury and sustainability.
