Cold River Mining Introduces Limited Edition Mining Bags Set to Rock 2023

Earth, water, fire, and more—campers can now mine all the elements with the limited-edition gemstone mining bags announced by Cold River Mining.

In a press release, the gemstone mining manufacturer based in Campbellsburg, Kentucky has introduced five new limited-edition bags for 2023.

“This is sure to be a hit with rock hounds, crystal fans, and kids of all ages,” the company said in a release.

The five special bags under the “Elemental Series” are named after the elements of nature that each rock resembles: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Space, with the gems appearing like they are straight out of each element.

The Fire bag contains a fiery mix of red stones like carnelian, rose quartz, yellow aventurine, and fancy jaspar.

Meanwhile, all blue is the Water gemstone mining bag that contains sodalite, labradorite, amazonite, and Iolite.

True to its name, deep greens with shades of brown can be found in the Earth bag. Gems include tigers eye, unakite, moss agate, green aventurine, and green jade.

The fourth bag called “Air” features celestial shades of white as if the gem miner is holding a cloud in their hands, per the company’s description. The limited-edition bag contains selenite, quartz, rainbow moonstone, agate, and white onyx.

Last and not least is the Space bag, an out-of-this-world bag containing tourmaline, obsidian, hematite, labradorite, and black jasper.

In an email exchange, Ryan Houchens of Cold River Mining told Modern Campground that Cold River Mining sluice is “becoming a big money maker” for more and more campgrounds.

“At Cold River Mining we work with hundreds of campgrounds across the country to create additional revenue streams [for] their businesses. In fact, over half of the 2022 nominees and half of ARVC’s Parks of the Year award winners use Cold River Mining to give their campers a hands-on experience that is also an additional profit center,” Houchens said.

“Campgrounds with over 125 transient sites will have 100% ROI in the first year,” he added.

According to the company, each bag costs $8.50 and a case includes 10 for $85. When sold individually, the limited-edition gemstone mining bags can be expected to sell at $20 MSRP each.
