Campspot, a campground reservation and management software, reported an uptick in booking trends for March. According to CEO Michael Scheinman, who shared data and market trends at the company’s April Town Hall event for customers, reservation activity in March rose by 1.89% over the same month last year, a recovery following decreases of 4.05% and 3.67% in January and February, respectively.
Addressing the year’s slow start, Campspot has launched several initiatives to help campgrounds this summer. These efforts include enhancements designed to save time and increase revenue potential for campground operators.
According to a press release, Campspot’s key enhancements involve integrations, such as with Lightspeed K-Series POS, Remote Lock Access Control, Inextech Gate Control, and a direct integration with Airbnb. These tools are integral to simplifying daily business processes at campgrounds. Additionally, improvements to the online travel agency (OTA), including inventory control and dynamic pricing features, enhance the functionality and user experience of Campspot’s OTA integrations.
The company has also improved core system usability to streamline front-office tasks, including auto-charging for remaining balances, flexible site lock fees, mobile check-in capabilities, tiered utility rates, and more.
Moreover, Campspot has a new campground customer support portal for a better support experience. Campspot Analytics also received updates. Additional and improved reporting dashboards pave the way for better core metrics monitoring and identifying opportunities for improvement.
For educational resources, Campspot has released new guides covering topics like search engine optimization (SEO), social media, and campground amenities. To facilitate comprehensive staff training, the Campspot Certification program now includes three new training modules focused on accounting, site management, and revenue management.
Bryan Beightol, VP of product and design at Campspot, emphasized the company’s commitment to improvement based on user feedback. “We want to do everything we can to help parks succeed in an ever-evolving landscape. We have a feedback loop with customers to help ensure we’re continually improving the core functionality of the software, while also looking for ways to create new value and invest for future growth of our parks,” Beightol said.
In preparation for the anticipated busy summer period, Campspot has extended its support hours. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the company will offer 24-hour support via chat and email, along with phone support available seven days a week.
