Hull Creek Campground, a destination in the Stanislaus National Forest, reopened after repairs due to winter damage. Located off Highway 108 in the Mi Wok Ranger District, approximately 12 miles southeast of Long Barn on 3N01, the campground welcomes visitors.
According to its website, Hull Creek Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis, offering 23 sites that cater to a variety of camping preferences. Visitors can enjoy tent camping or set up their camping trailers. Additionally, the campground provides essential amenities such as potable water, tables, fire rings, and vault toilets.
The campground has also updated fee structures and policies. The 2024 and 2025 nightly rate for camping is set at $20, increasing to $25 in 2026. The America the Beautiful Interagency Senior and Access Passes are still honored, providing a 50% discount on the nightly rate for the pass holder’s single site. However, Interagency Annual and Volunteer passes do not offer any camping discounts.
Hull Creek Campground is open from May through December. Camping is allowed only in designated sites, with a limit of six people per campsite and a maximum stay of 14 days. Each site can accommodate up to two vehicles.
The campground accommodates RVs and trailers up to 50 feet in length and offers amenities such as tent camping, camping trailer sites, picnic tables, toilets, and parking. Trash service is not also available, and visitors are encouraged to follow the “Pack in, Pack out” principle.
Located near towns such as Long Barn, Cold Springs, Pinecrest, Twain Harte, and Sonora, CA, Hull Creek Campground offers access to nearby amenities while providing a serene destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
In addition to the campground, the Stanislaus National Forest, spanning 898,000 acres, boasts 78 lakes, 811 miles of streams and rivers, and over 1,000 miles of hiking trails. From hiking and fishing to immersing in nature, this forest offers a diverse range of adventures.
Within the Stanislaus, there are three distinct Wilderness Areas to explore: Carson-Iceberg, Emigrant, and Mokelumne. Each area provides an outdoor experience for camping, backpacking, hiking, fishing, hunting, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and wildlife watching.
