2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and eSprinter to Feature Updated Technology, Expanded Options

Mercedes-Benz has announced several updates to its 2025 Sprinter and eSprinter lineup that will bring enhanced technology, safety features, and more configuration options to the popular commercial van.

According to a company press release, one of the key changes is an upgraded MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system, which will feature a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen display, faster computing power, improved navigation, and wireless smartphone integration.

The system will also enable over-the-air software updates to keep the vans up to date. The voice assistant will be more intelligent, and able to perform certain actions without the “Hey Mercedes” prompt, making it more intuitive to use while driving.

On the safety front, the 2025 Sprinter and eSprinter will gain an updated Active Brake Assist system with intersection functionality to help avoid collisions with crossing traffic at speeds up to 37 mph. It can also warn of dangerous overtaking at speeds up to 43 mph and assist with evasive steering maneuvers at speeds up to 25 mph.

A new Sideguard Assist will better alert drivers to vehicles in the passenger-side blind spot using LED lights in the exterior mirrors and acoustic warnings. The vans will also offer a digital interior mirror and 360-degree camera system.

Other driver assistance upgrades include a new front camera for Active Lane Keeping Assist and Moving-Off Information Assist, which can detect vehicles within 12 feet in front and 19.6 inches to the side when pulling away from a stop, and provide collision warnings at speeds up to 6 mph. The 360-degree camera view will also display a rear hatched area to show where the rear doors can safely open.

For the all-electric eSprinter, Mercedes-Benz is introducing a new 144-inch wheelbase option with an 81 kWh battery pack, providing a balance of cargo space and driving range up to 204 miles. This joins the existing 170-inch wheelbase high-roof model with a 113 kWh battery enabling a 297-mile range.

The eSprinter lineup will now offer payloads up to 3,516 lbs and cargo volumes up to 488 cu. ft., allowing it to be configured for a wider variety of commercial applications.

The 2025 Sprinter will also gain some equipment and package changes, including an updated Winter Package, Drive Assist Package with driver assistance features, and standard equipment like front/rear tire pressure monitoring for dual models, rain sensors, and entry handles.

When it comes to digital conveniences, the 2025 Sprinter and eSprinter’s MBUX infotainment system, working in tandem with the Mercedes me connect app, offers a comprehensive suite of digital features that elevate the intelligence and convenience of these vans, making everyday life more efficient for customers. The Mercedes me connect app provides easy access to free services, including maintenance, accident, and breakdown management, as well as remote capabilities like locking and unlocking doors.

Another exciting addition is the new satellite view and improved navigation for trailers and oversized vehicles.

These digital extras bring another level of intelligence and convenience to the RV experience. By leveraging these advanced technologies, RV manufacturers can create smarter, more connected products that enhance the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of their customers’ adventures.

For RV manufacturers and upfitters, the 2025 Sprinter and eSprinter offer a compelling platform with their updated technology, safety, and electric powertrain options. The MBUX system and Mercedes me connect services can enhance the user experience for camper van and Class B motorhome customers.
