The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) is partnering with RV dealers across Texas to encourage camping at nearby campgrounds by offering dealership customers discounts at participating TACO-member parks within each dealer’s service area.
According to the association, the initiative is designed to strengthen relationships between RV dealers and campground operators while directing new RV owners and customers to camping destinations located near participating dealerships.
The program began as a pilot with Topper’s RVs in Waller and PPL Motorhomes, which operates locations serving the Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, New Braunfels and Decatur markets.
“We think this is a great way to promote closer working relationships between RV dealers and campground operators throughout Texas,” Brian Schaeffer, TACO executive director and CEO, said.
Under the program, Topper’s RVs and PPL Motorhomes provide customers with discount coupons that can be redeemed at participating TACO-member campgrounds located within 50 miles of each dealership. TACO produces the discount coupons for use at each participating campground.
“The response from dealers and consumers has been positive so far,” Schaeffer said.
The program currently includes nine participating campgrounds serving customers of five RV dealership locations across the state.
In the Houston market, PPL customers can use discounts at Royal Palms RV Resort in Magnolia and Woodland Lakes RV Park in Conroe.
Customers of PPL’s Cleburne location are eligible for discounts at Flying Dutchman RV Resort in Waxahachie and Highland Hideaway RV Resort in Cleburne.
PPL’s New Braunfels customers can camp at discounted rates at Sun Retreats Texas Hill Country in New Braunfels and Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake, while customers of the dealership’s Decatur location can use the program at West Gate RV Park in Poolville.
Topper’s RVs customers in Waller also have access to discounts at Royal Palms RV Resort in Magnolia and Woodland Lakes RV Park in Conroe.
TACO said dozens of additional campgrounds have already volunteered to participate in the initiative and will be matched with RV dealers as those businesses opt into the program.
Based in Crowley, the Texas Association of Campground Owners is a 54-year-old trade association representing more than 430 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across Texas.
