Two exceptional caravan sites, located near Poole and in Ringwood, have been recognized among the top 10 caravan parks in the United Kingdom.
According to rankings by Practical Caravan, Back of Beyond Touring Park in Ringwood secured the sixth position, while South Lytchett Manor near Poole claimed the eighth spot.
The prestigious list also featured Ballyness Caravan Park in Northern Ireland, which ranked second, and Eye Kettleby Lakes in Melton Mowbray, taking the top position. The full top 10 list can be found on the Practical Caravan website, as per a report by the Great British Life.
Describing Back of Beyond Touring Park as “ideal for exploring Dorset’s many delights,” Practical Caravans highlighted the park’s accomplishments as a regional winner for Dorset for four consecutive years.
The site spans 30 acres of countryside and offers facilities such as four heated toilet and shower blocks, a shop and a dog-wash.
“Food vendors also visit, offering a variety of dishes. Visitors can embark on a woodland walk around the site, while New Forest National Park is a short drive away,” added the park’s management.
Notable local attractions include Bournemouth, Stonehenge, Southampton, and Winchester.
Back of Beyond has garnered positive feedback on TripAdvisor, boasting a score of 4.5/5 from 704 reviews. Meanwhile, Practical Caravan praised South Lytchett Manor for its “acres of truly serene parkland,” which “provides a peaceful setting in beautiful surroundings.”
The caravan site offers convenient access to buses heading for Swanage, Poole, Weymouth, and the Jurassic Coast, and is just nine miles from Bournemouth.
The site also provides bike rentals, a bakery with daily offerings, and a shop selling local produce. Other amenities include three heated amenity blocks, a dog-wash, and a 2.5-acre dog-walking field. During high season, outside caterers offer their services, and a village pub is just a 10-minute walk away.
