Mid Wales has been ranked the top region in Great Britain for the quality of camping, glamping, and caravan sites, according to the Pitchup.com Review Awards 2025. The recognition is based on nearly 200,000 customer reviews collected over the past year, with the region achieving the highest overall average rating of 9.5.
The awards evaluate sites listed on Pitchup.com, requiring a minimum of 20 reviews and an average rating threshold to qualify. The results highlight growing consumer reliance on verified guest feedback when selecting outdoor accommodations, a trend that continues to influence booking behavior across the camping and caravan sector.
Pitchup.com noted the region’s natural appeal as a contributing factor to its ranking. “With the Cambrian Mountains and the Ceredigion coast, it’s easy to see why this beautiful spot might top the charts for outdoor holidays,” the company said.
Two members of Mid Wales Tourism were also recognized among the top-performing individual sites. Nyth Robin in Aberdyfi received a 9.9 rating, placing it among the top 10 sites in Wales and sixth in North Wales. Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park in Trefeglwys, near Caersws, achieved a 9.8 rating from 280 reviews, ranking seventh among the top 10 Mid Wales sites.
Zoe Hawkins, chief executive of Mid Wales Tourism, said the results reflect the region’s diverse offering. “It’s wonderful news that Nyth Robin and Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park have been recognised in these awards, which confirms the fantastic quality of the diverse camping, glamping and caravan sites that we have here in Mid Wales,” she said.
“Hopefully, these awards will encourage even more visitors to discover all that our beautiful region has to offer this year.”
Nyth Robin, operated by Grant and Sadie Porter, offers a mix of accommodations, including domes, a yurt, a converted horsebox, and touring pitches. “Whatever type of Welsh holiday you want, you’ll find Nyth Robin in splendid setting,” Pitchup.com told Shropshire Star.
Sadie Porter added, “It’s amazing to be recognised in awards like these, especially when they are based on reviews from our guests. It’s also great to know that all the love and hard work that goes into Nyth Robin means customers enjoy staying with us. As a small site, it can be hard to stand out from the crowd these days, and this recognition certainly helps.”
Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park, a five-star site that opened in February 2022, offers touring pitches, holiday homes, and lodges across a 42-acre site. “Travelling Wales in a caravan or motorhome? Make your way to Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park for a scenic stay amid the lovely landscapes of the Trannon Valley,” Pitchup.com said.
Service manager Clive Bowen noted ongoing development plans, stating, “It’s always special to be recognised again in the Pitch Up Review Awards because they are based on reviews by visitors staying with us on the park. Our visitors help us to further develop the park, including our indoor pool and spa complex, due to complete in late 2027 and our solar farm, which will begin producing clean electric within the next few months. With our water being supplied by our own underground springs, we aim to make the park as sustainable as possible.”
For outdoor hospitality operators, the results underscore the commercial importance of guest reviews and consistent service delivery. High ratings not only improve visibility on booking platforms but can also support premium pricing strategies and repeat visitation.
The inclusion of sustainability initiatives and ongoing infrastructure investment, as seen at Meadow Springs, also reflects evolving guest expectations, which increasingly factor into review scores and long-term competitiveness.
