Seaside Leisure Parks Ltd could receive approval for a new holiday lodge development in Lincolnshire following amendments to its original plans. The proposal, submitted for a site east of Croft Lane, Croft, was initially for 33 holiday lodges but has been revised to 30 lodges with decking surrounding a centrally excavated commercial fishing lake.
The planning application was first presented to the East Lindsey District Council Planning Committee on 4 December 2025. The decision was deferred to allow adjustments to the lodge layout and additional landscaping to address concerns raised during the meeting.
Specifically, the amendments were intended to mitigate the potential impact on the amenity of Oakridge House, a neighbouring dwelling to the north. An updated site layout plan has since been submitted to the council, according to Insider Media.
A report prepared for the committee recommended approval of the scheme when the council meets again on 5 February 2026. It stated: “The scheme, by reason of the extensive landscaping and scale, assimilates well into the rural surroundings and is not considered to cause unacceptable harm to the wider landscape, protected or important habitats.”
For professionals in the outdoor hospitality and holiday accommodation sector, the application highlights key considerations in lodge development planning, including layout adjustments, landscaping integration, and impact on neighbouring properties.
Understanding how local councils evaluate proposals can inform future developments and planning strategies for operators, particularly regarding rural site integration and compliance with environmental and amenity standards. The case also demonstrates the potential for plans to be revised during consultation periods without affecting the overall viability of a project.
The outcome of the committee meeting on 5 February will determine whether Seaside Leisure Parks Ltd can proceed with the development as amended. Operators and investors in the sector may monitor this case for insights into planning approval processes and strategies for managing objections related to local impact.
