Erwin Hymer Group UK Tops NCC Manufacturer Approval Scheme for 2025–26

Erwin Hymer Group UK, manufacturer of the Elddis, Buccaneer, and Xplore caravan brands, has recorded the highest combined scores in the National Caravan Council’s Manufacturer Approval Scheme for the 2025–26 assessment year, according to the NCC’s latest annual report.

The company achieved a 4.9-star rating for its touring caravans, placing it at the top of the NCC Manufacturing Accreditation Scheme when results across caravans, motorhomes, and campervans are combined. The Manufacturer Approval Scheme is reviewed annually and evaluates compliance with industry construction standards, quality systems, and product safety requirements.

The National Caravan Council, which represents the UK caravan and motorhome industry, operates the scheme to provide independent verification of manufacturing standards. Participation is voluntary, but accreditation is often used by retailers, fleet operators, and consumers as a benchmark when assessing manufacturers and product ranges.

Chris Short, managing director of Erwin Hymer Group UK, said the latest results reflect changes implemented across the organisation and the work of teams throughout its UK operations. “These results reflect improvements made across the business and the work of teams across its UK operations,” he told Out&About Live.

Erwin Hymer Group UK also noted that the 2025–26 accreditation results follow a period of broader industry recognition, with the company securing multiple awards during the current awards season. The manufacturer reported that customer feedback has continued to improve, with increased confidence in the Elddis, Xplore, and Buccaneer model ranges.

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality, caravan park, and RV resort sectors, NCC accreditation outcomes can carry operational relevance beyond manufacturing. Higher manufacturing standards and quality assurance can influence warranty claims, aftersales support, and long-term asset performance for fleet operators and hire businesses.

Caravan park owners and glamping operators who offer touring caravan or motorhome hire may also view manufacturer accreditation as a factor when selecting units that are likely to deliver lower maintenance costs and higher customer satisfaction.

The 2025–26 Manufacturer Approval Scheme results arrive as operators across the UK continue to focus on asset durability and guest experience amid rising operating costs.

As manufacturers invest in quality systems and safety compliance, downstream businesses such as dealers, park operators and rental providers may see indirect benefits through improved reliability and brand trust.

The NCC’s full 2025–26 report outlines the assessment framework and scoring methodology used across participating manufacturers, with results applying for the duration of the accreditation year.
