A luxury holiday park near Holsworthy is set to receive a significant upgrade following a £10.5 million investment from HSBC. This development comes two years after Capfun, a pan-European camping operator, acquired the Lakeshore Leisure Group, marking its entry into the UK holiday market reported by Holsworthy Today.
The investment is expected to create additional jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy. This job creation underscores the positive impact of such investments on community development and local employment opportunities.
The funds will be utilized to enhance facilities and integrate renewable energy solutions across Capfun’s three Devon-based holiday parks. One of the key initiatives planned is the installation of solar panels to power parts of the holiday park, reflecting the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and enhancing environmental responsibility.
Elliot Hassall, Finance Director for Lakeshore Leisure, expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating: “This deal enables us to invest significantly in the quality of our facilities across our three sites in Devon to offer guests an amazing holiday experience that fits with our parks’ beautiful natural surroundings. I’m also pleased that we can continue to invest in renewable energy as well as provide more jobs for local people.”
The investment from HSBC highlights the bank’s strategic interest in supporting sustainable business practices within the UK holiday market. Raj Shah, Relationship Director, International Subsidiary Banking at HSBC UK, commented on the significance of this investment, saying: “This marks an important milestone for Lakeshore Leisure following the business’s acquisition by Capfun. It signals the camping business’s desire to kickstart growth in the UK as it aims to become one of the first pan European park operators.
Capfun is positioning itself as a major player in the European camping and holiday park sector. The investment represents a key milestone in the company’s strategy to expand its presence and offerings in the UK.
The planned upgrades are expected to elevate the quality of facilities across the three Devon sites, potentially attracting more visitors to the area. This could have a ripple effect on the local tourism industry, benefiting other businesses in the region.
