Bamburgh Under Canvas Launches Bamburgh Wyld With Wellness and Floral Experiences

Bamburgh Under Canvas, an adults-only glamping retreat in Northumberland, is expanding its offerings this summer with the launch of Bamburgh Wyld, a new brand centered on nature-based wellness and creative outdoor experiences.

The initiative will introduce new guest activities alongside the property’s existing luxury glamping accommodations, reflecting a broader trend among outdoor hospitality businesses that are diversifying their amenities to encourage longer stays and attract new visitor segments.

The first phase of the expansion, Bamburgh Wyld Wellness, is scheduled to open on July 18. Located in Glororum, the wellness experience will feature a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge designed to provide guests with opportunities for relaxation in a natural setting.

A second offering, Bamburgh Wyld Flowers, is planned to launch on August 1 and will focus on seasonal floral experiences, including bouquet-making, workshops, and other creative activities.

The introduction of Bamburgh Wyld represents an evolution of Bamburgh Under Canvas, which has established itself as an adults-only glamping destination with access to the Northumberland coastline and the beaches surrounding Bamburgh. The property has also previously been featured on the television program Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes.

According to the Northumberland Gazette, the new wellness and floral experiences are intended to complement its existing accommodations by creating additional reasons for guests to visit while emphasizing connections to the surrounding landscape.

Cameron Rodgerson, Bamburgh Under Canvas founder, said: “Bamburgh Under Canvas has always been about creating space for people to slow down and reconnect with nature.

“Bamburgh Wyld is a natural next step, allowing us celebrate this incredible landscape and leave people feeling calmer and restored.”

Guests will be able to reserve several wellness experiences through the Bamburgh Wyld Wellness website when the facility opens. The available options include one-hour shared Social Sauna sessions for up to six participants, one-hour Private Sauna bookings for groups of up to eight people, and a 90-minute Couples Sauna experience offered exclusively to Bamburgh Under Canvas guests.

The expansion reflects a continuing trend across the outdoor hospitality and glamping sectors, where operators are supplementing accommodations with wellness, experiential, and activity-based offerings to differentiate their properties in an increasingly competitive market.

Rather than relying solely on overnight stays, many businesses are creating additional revenue streams through bookable experiences that appeal to both overnight guests and, in some cases, local visitors.

For campground, RV park, caravan park, and glamping operators, the Bamburgh Wyld launch illustrates how curated experiences tied to a property’s natural surroundings can strengthen a destination’s identity while broadening its appeal.

Wellness amenities, seasonal programming, and hands-on activities can help increase guest engagement, encourage repeat visitation, and create opportunities for ancillary revenue without significantly expanding lodging capacity.

As traveler demand continues to evolve toward experience-focused stays, similar initiatives may provide operators with additional ways to extend guest spending and enhance the overall visitor experience.
