Surge in Demand Propels Morelo to Amplify Production Operations

Premium German motorhome brand Morelo has begun constructing a brand-new factory to expand its production capacity as it aims to meet the increasing demand for its products.

Morelo, part of the Knaus Tabbert Group, is erecting the new factory hall at its operation in Schlüsselfeld, near Bamberg in central Germany, according to a report by Camping Trade World.

The facility will feature a state-of-the-art production line, helping the company further establish its reputation in the premium motorhome market.

Morelo’s factory expansion reflects the broader trend in the RV manufacturing industry, as companies work to meet the growing consumer demand for outdoor leisure and travel experiences.

“With the factory expansion, we are taking the next big step into the future. The new Plant 2, as well as already the significant expansion of Plant 1 and the extension of the exhibition space for our vehicles, all this is the basis for being able to grow further with our own power and at the same time to implement the first-class wishes of our customers even better, more individually, and faster,” Morelo Managing Director Robert Crispens said.

The new factory, Plant 2, will help increase Morelo’s production capacity and allow for the expansion of its design and prototyping team.

The importance of innovative design in the RV industry cannot be overstated, as manufacturers seek to differentiate their products in a competitive market with unique features and cutting-edge technologies. Morelo’s investment in its design and prototyping team is a testament to this.

Plant 2 is expected to increase the number of employees at Morelo’s headquarters from 450 to around 550. This expansion is not only significant for the company but also for the local community.

“A real further milestone for MORELO, but also a strong impulse for the entire region. Whereas until a few years ago, it was normal for employees to make the daily journey from Schlüsselfeld to Bamberg, Würzburg or even Erlangen and Nuremberg, thanks to companies like MORELO, the reverse route is now also a real option for more and more people,” said Morelo Co-Managing Director Reinhard Löhner.

The new, state-of-the-art production line at Morelo’s facility demonstrates the importance of investing in advanced manufacturing technologies for RV manufacturers. By doing so, they can increase efficiency, reduce production time, and maintain consistent quality control – all factors that contribute to improved customer satisfaction.

The recent groundbreaking ceremony for Plant 2 marked a significant moment for Morelo and the region. In attendance were city council members, regional administrators, and representatives from Morelo and Krippner GmbH, all of whom celebrated the beginning of this new chapter for the company and the local community.

As Morelo moves forward with its expansion, the company is well-positioned to continue providing high-quality, premium motorhomes to its customers. The investment in new facilities, advanced manufacturing technologies, and design and prototyping teams serves as a multi-faceted approach to solidifying their place in the market.

RV manufacturers should take note of Morelo’s commitment to meeting demand through expansion and technological advancement. As the industry grows and consumer preferences evolve, companies must adapt and innovate to stay competitive and maintain customer satisfaction.
