Starting March 1, individuals can book their spots online for the Harrison Park Family Campground. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to accommodate the growing interest in outdoor activities and provide a seamless reservation process for campers.
The city’s parks and campgrounds are nestled in picturesque landscapes, providing a perfect backdrop for various outdoor activities. From hiking and biking to fishing and bird watching, Owen Sound caters to a diverse set of interests and skill levels.
In addition, Harrison Park Family Campground is a favored destination for both locals and tourists in the region. The park is expected to welcome campers from May 10 until October 7.
For visitors, reservations, including payments, must be completed online, adhering to a first-come, first-served policy. This system ensures fairness and accessibility, allowing everyone an equal opportunity to secure a camping spot.
Guests are encouraged to make advanced reservations to avoid the influx of visitors and ensure a spot in the said campgrounds. Campers are encouraged to factor this into their planning and budgeting for their outdoor adventures.
Meanwhile, reservations for Kelso Campground have yet to be made available, with further details to be released. Owen Sound is enhancing its offerings with the renovated Heritage Cabin at Harrison Park. Heritage Cabin is available for weekly rentals from Sunday to Sunday.
Unlike the campsites, reservations for the cabin must be made over the phone, starting March 1 at 9 a.m., by calling 519-371-9734.
All bookings for the upcoming camping season will be subject to the Municipal Accommodation Tax, which is part of the city’s regulatory framework. The tax will help ensure that the camping facilities are maintained and enhanced for future visitors.
