Campground Growth Club is planning a free online workshop focused on guest service practices for campground and RV park owners and managers, with sessions covering guest communication, complaint resolution, staff expectations, and ways to encourage repeat visits and positive reviews.
The workshop, titled “Creating Raving Fans – Simple Guest Service Wins for Campgrounds,” is hosted by Craig Alsup, founder of Campground Growth Club and co-owner of Askew’s Landing RV Campground. The event was initially promoted for Friday, October 2, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central time. However, the workshop’s registration page states that a new date is being scheduled and that the date, time, and Google Meet joining details will be emailed to registrants once confirmed.
Participation is free, and campground owners and managers do not need to join Campground Growth Club’s paid membership to attend. The organizer also says participants can register to receive a worksheet while awaiting confirmation of the rescheduled event.
The workshop is intended to focus on practical improvements that businesses can implement without necessarily making substantial investments. Topics include identifying simple ways to make guests feel welcome, responding constructively when problems arise, and turning successful service practices into repeatable routines for employees.
Participants are encouraged to bring one guest experience challenge or improvement idea from their own campground. The stated goal is to help attendees leave with a clearer decision and a practical next step they can apply to their operations.
The workshop also addresses how staff can respond to complaints by listening to guests, taking responsibility where appropriate, and communicating what will happen next. Another focus is establishing clear expectations so that service standards do not depend entirely on individual employees or inconsistent decision-making.
For campground and RV park operators, guest service can influence online reputation, repeat bookings, and recommendations. However, maintaining consistent service can be difficult when teams are balancing reservations, maintenance, housekeeping, seasonal staffing, and other daily responsibilities.
Establishing straightforward procedures for common guest interactions may help businesses deliver more consistent experiences. Examples include setting expectations for check-in, giving staff clear authority to address routine problems, and defining when an issue should be escalated to a manager. Tracking recurring complaints and reviewing guest feedback can also help operators identify operational problems that require more than an individual service response.
The workshop’s emphasis on low-cost improvements may be relevant to independent operators working with limited staffing and marketing budgets. Rather than relying only on new amenities or property upgrades, businesses can assess how communication, problem-solving, and staff routines contribute to the overall guest experience.
Campground Growth Club is also using the event to introduce its owner and manager community, which is intended to support business improvement and shared learning. Joining the paid membership is optional.
The workshop’s revised date and time have not yet been confirmed on the registration page. Interested operators can find registration information and updates at Campground Growth Club’s free workshop page.
