Caravan Hatta to Launch With 50 Airstream Trailers in UAE

Hatta, a mountain destination in the United Arab Emirates, is set to add a new large-scale glamping accommodation with the launch of Caravan Hatta, a 50-unit Airstream trailer property developed by hospitality brand Our Habitas.

The property is accepting reservations for stays beginning Monday, September 28, with rates starting at Dhs1,130, including breakfast. The project expands Our Habitas’ presence in the glamping sector following its existing caravan accommodation in AlUla, Saudi Arabia.

Caravan Hatta will be positioned near Hatta Dam, with the Hajar Mountains forming the backdrop to the accommodation. The 50 bespoke Airstream trailers are designed to provide views of the surrounding valley or lake and will incorporate locally sourced materials and organic textiles.

The development will center on The Lake House, a communal area intended to serve as a gathering point for guests. Planned facilities include an infinity pool with mountain views and a range of cultural and wellness programming. Activities are expected to include creative workshops inspired by Hajar traditions, yoga, meditation and sound healing.

According to What’s On, the property will also feature a hot and cold therapy area with a barrel sauna, outdoor cold plunge and hot tub. Outdoor recreation will form another part of the guest offering, with access to hiking and biking trails as well as kayaking and paddleboarding on Hatta Dam.

An observatory deck is planned for nighttime use, with guided stargazing allowing guests to explore the area’s night sky. Food and beverage options will include food trucks offering a range of cuisines and live barbecue stations in an open-air setting.

For outdoor hospitality operators, Caravan Hatta illustrates how established hospitality brands are combining towable or trailer-based accommodations with shared amenities and programmed experiences. Rather than positioning the Airstream units as standalone lodging, the project is built around communal facilities, wellness programming, outdoor recreation and food and beverage services.

That approach can provide operators with several potential revenue and engagement points beyond accommodation, while also giving guests reasons to spend time on-site between activities. The property’s location near a major natural attraction also demonstrates the role that destination setting can play in developing a glamping concept.

The September 28 opening date places Caravan Hatta within the UAE’s outdoor tourism season, when cooler conditions can support hiking, water activities and overnight stays. Its launch will add another caravan-based accommodation option to the region’s growing outdoor hospitality market.
