The RV Industry Association‘s (RVIA) 2026 Regulatory and Safety Compliance Seminar brought together more than 60 industry representatives from manufacturers and supplier companies on July 29 in Elkhart, Indiana, for discussions on regulatory compliance, safety practices and emerging industry issues.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, attendees represented more than 16 manufacturers and nine supplier companies during the one-day seminar, which focused on regulatory and safety compliance through educational presentations and panel discussions.
The event featured a keynote presentation by Will Godfrey, director of Mobility, Automation, and Safety at Thompson Hine LLP, who discussed several regulatory topics, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s approach to reviewing safety issues.
Drawing on his experience as a former NHTSA employee, Godfrey shared insights into the agency’s review process and offered guidance on streamlining compliance procedures while strengthening communication across the industry.
The seminar also included panel discussions featuring industry compliance professionals who addressed a range of regulatory and operational topics.
Sessions covered identifying safety issues, maintaining organizational safety cultures, collaborating with dealers on recall management, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in regulatory and safety compliance.
Audience members participated in question-and-answer sessions with panelists, allowing attendees to discuss practical compliance challenges and industry practices directly with experienced professionals.
The seminar served as an educational opportunity for members seeking updates on regulatory developments and compliance strategies affecting the RV industry. Attendance included representatives from both RV manufacturers and supplier companies, reflecting participation across multiple segments of the industry.
The RVIA also recognized the organizations that supported the event, including Winnebago Industries, Forest River Inc., THOR Industries, Lippert, Dometic, Dexter and Thompson Hine LLP. According to the association, sponsorship support allowed the seminar to be offered free of charge to RV Industry Association members.
