Dragonfly Energy Holdings has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the operating assets associated with the Dakota Lithium brand, expanding its battery portfolio across marine, outdoor recreation, RV, powersports, golf cart and other specialty markets.
The company said Dakota Lithium will continue operating as a separate brand alongside its Battle Born Batteries brand, with each maintaining its own product focus, market position and customer community. The acquisition broadens the range of battery products it can offer while extending its reach into additional application segments.
As part of the acquisition, Dragonfly Energy will add Dakota Lithium’s lineup of deep-cycle and dual-purpose batteries, smaller-format starting and powersports batteries, higher-energy-density battery designs across multiple form factors, chargers and portable power stations.
The expanded portfolio is intended to provide customers with a wider selection of products for various recreational and specialty applications.
“Dakota Lithium has established a recognized position across marine, outdoor recreation and other specialty applications,” Wade Seaburg, chief commercial officer of Dragonfly Energy, said. “We see a meaningful opportunity to build on that foundation by supporting product availability, expanding distribution and introducing more customers to the Dakota Lithium brand.”
“Our focus is to bring Dragonfly Energy’s broader commercial and operational capabilities to the business while strengthening support for customers and channel partners,” Seaburg added.
According to a press release, Dragonfly Energy said it plans to work closely with Dakota Lithium’s existing distributors, dealers and customers during the transition. The company is replenishing inventory and expects product availability to expand over the coming months.
Additional details regarding customer support and commercial programs will be announced once those plans are finalized.
The acquisition brings together two battery brands that will continue to operate independently while allowing Dragonfly Energy to serve a broader range of customer needs across multiple recreational and specialty markets.
Dragonfly Energy Holdings specializes in lithium battery technology, including cell manufacturing, battery pack assembly and system integration. Through its Battle Born Batteries brand, the company serves original equipment manufacturers and retail customers with lithium battery products used across a variety of applications.
