AI-Driven Marketing Trends Highlight Growing Consumer Demand for Human Connection in RV Industry

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape how consumers research products and interact with brands, marketers are being encouraged to prioritize real-world experiences and authentic storytelling to strengthen customer relationships.

The latest marketing trends for the recreational vehicle industry suggest consumers increasingly value human connection over purely digital engagement.

The trend reflects a shift in consumer expectations as AI-generated content becomes more common across online platforms.

While technology has simplified product research and content creation, marketers are being advised that consumers want experiences AI cannot replicate, including opportunities to engage with other people around shared interests and activities.

For the RV industry, the guidance emphasizes that ownership has long centered on experiences, community and travel rather than the vehicle itself. As a result, marketing strategies are encouraged to introduce consumers to the RV lifestyle before they visit a dealership or showroom.

Among the recommended approaches is creating in-person events designed to bring current and prospective RV owners together.

Suggested activities include RV open houses, owner meetups, workshops for first-time RV buyers and campfire cooking demonstrations.

The guidance also recommends partnering with campgrounds, local outfitters and tourism offices to develop events that highlight the RV lifestyle through shared experiences.

“The brands generating the most authentic engagement aren’t publishing more content—they’re creating experiences people want to attend and share with their networks,” a news and insights from RVIA indicates.

Marketers are further encouraged to extend the reach of those events by capturing photos and videos while encouraging attendees to share their own perspectives and experiences across their social media networks.

Another key recommendation is increasing transparency by showcasing the people and processes behind RV brands instead of focusing exclusively on finished products.

The trend report indicates consumers place greater trust in brands that reveal how products are developed and supported.

Examples of suggested content include day-in-the-life videos, factory tours, product development stories, service demonstrations and behind-the-scenes looks at preparations for RV shows, campground events, customer deliveries and new model launches.

Companies are also encouraged to feature engineers, designers, technicians, sales staff and customer service employees through short interviews for social media channels and blogs.

The report concludes that consumers are seeking a sense of belonging alongside a purchase decision.

It suggests brands that foster community, create memorable experiences and share authentic stories are better positioned to build stronger relationships with prospective customers before they make an RV purchase.
