Postle Aluminum announced plans to expand its aluminum extrusion capacity through the installation of two new extrusion presses, a move the company said is intended to support existing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers, enter new markets and strengthen long-term supply capabilities.
The investment includes a new 10-inch aluminum extrusion press and a seven-inch press, both of which will be installed at a new 230,000-square-foot facility in Howe, Indiana.
Equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin in summer 2026, with initial production targeted for early fall and full-rate operations expected by the end of the year.
According to a press release, Mark Smith, president of Postle Aluminum, said the expansion is designed to ensure the company can meet customer demand as industry conditions evolve.
“This investment is about being ready for our customers, now and in the future,” Smith said. “As the broader industry has experienced shifts, our customers have continued to lean into Postle.
“We’re making this investment now to ensure we have the capacity, capabilities, and reliability to support their growth without interruption. When our customers are ready to go, we want to be ready to provide them with the solutions they need,” Smith added.
The new 10-inch press will expand its technical capabilities by improving production efficiency for existing profiles while enabling the manufacture of larger and more complex aluminum shapes.
The equipment will also allow Postle Aluminum to produce hard alloy materials, including 6061 aluminum, for applications requiring greater structural performance.
The seven-inch press is intended to increase production of high-volume trim and smaller-profile products, including painted and finished components. The company said the additional capacity will help meet near-term customer demand while maintaining dependable supply.
The Howe facility has also been designed with space to accommodate future expansion as production needs grow.
Smith said the company is investing ahead of expected demand rather than waiting for production capacity to become constrained.
“This is a deliberate, forward-looking investment,” Smith said. “We’re not waiting for demand to peak before acting. We’re building capacity ahead of the curve so our customers can confidently plan their own growth knowing we’re ready to support them.”
