Campspot Expands Distribution Network With Expedia Integration to Broaden Campground Booking Reach

Campspot has expanded its online distribution network through a new integration with Expedia, adding one of the world’s largest travel marketplaces to its growing list of booking channel partnerships for campground operators.

The campground management and reservation software provider announced that the Expedia integration is now active, marking the latest addition to its online travel agency portfolio, which already includes Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo.

According to Campspot, the move is part of a broader strategy to build a comprehensive online distribution network for outdoor hospitality businesses and increase campground visibility across both mainstream travel platforms and campground-focused booking channels.

The integration comes as demand for nature-based tourism continues to grow and travelers increasingly expect the same digital booking convenience when reserving outdoor accommodations as they do when booking hotels and resorts. The new connection enables campground inventory to be displayed within Expedia’s travel marketplace, helping operators reach a wider audience.

“Campspot already offers campgrounds broad exposure through both exclusive and mainstream channels, and this integration further extends our leadership in campground distribution,” Michael Scheinman, CEO of Campspot, said in a press release.

“By integrating with Expedia, we are elevating campgrounds onto the global stage, giving them equal visibility alongside major hotel brands and resorts. It enables park operators to tap into global demand and capture travelers who may not have been able to discover them through traditional channels,” Scheinman added.

Campground operators have historically faced fragmented distribution options that often required additional marketing efforts and manual processes to reach travelers beyond specialized camping directories. Its multi-channel distribution approach is designed to address those challenges by connecting operators to a broader range of booking platforms.

In addition to partnerships with major online travel agencies, Campspot continues to invest in campground-specific distribution channels. The company said its Campspot Marketplace generates roughly 10% of all online bookings at participating campgrounds.

Campspot also noted that it holds Elite PMS Partner status with Spot2Nite, a campground-focused booking network. The company indicated that additional OTA partnerships are expected to be announced in the coming months.

The Expedia integration is intended to expand digital reach for both independent campground operators and larger outdoor hospitality businesses.

Campspot serves more than 3,500 private and public parks across the United States and Canada through its campground management and reservation software platform, which includes business management tools, reporting capabilities, integrations and online booking functionality.
