New Bern KOA Holiday Wins Two 2026 Campies Awards

New Bern KOA Holiday in New Bern, North Carolina, has received two awards in RVshare’s 2026 Campers’ Choice Awards, becoming the only campground to win in two categories this year.

The riverfront property won Best Waterfront Campground and Best Campground Features and Amenities in the fifth annual awards program, known as the Campies.

Winners were determined by public vote following thousands of nominations across 16 categories.

The recognition adds to the campground’s recent industry honors, including a 2026 KOA ICON Award, which recognizes the top 10% of KOA campgrounds across North America, and a 2026 KOA World Class Guest Service distinction. Kampgrounds of America, Inc. named the property its Campground of the Year in 2019.

The campground also reports a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 95, a measure of customer loyalty based on the likelihood that guests would recommend a business to friends and family. The score ranges from -100 to 100. KOA considers scores above 70 to be world class.

“Our team works hard every day to make sure every guest feels welcome, safe and cared for from the moment they arrive. These awards belong to them,” said Bonnie Day, director of operations at New Bern KOA Holiday. “Being awarded for our waterfront and our amenities is a thrill, but what we’re proudest of is seeing the same campers come back to visit us year after year.”

Located along the Neuse River in eastern North Carolina, the campground offers more than 100 RV sites, deluxe cabins and tent sites. Amenities and activities include a 100-foot fishing pier, catch-and-release ponds, kayaking, organized campground activities and a swimming pool.

Historic downtown New Bern is less than 10 minutes from the property and includes restaurants, shops, Tryon Palace, trolley tours and the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola.

“Being recognized by RVshare is a real honor,” said Micah Tomaselli, owner of New Bern KOA Holiday. “Knowing that campers across the country voted for us tells us that what we’ve built here stands out; it introduces the outdoors and our community to a whole new audience of campers.”

The campground is located at 1565 B St. in New Bern and operates year-round. It is part of the KOA network, which includes more than 500 privately owned, publicly accessible campgrounds across the United States and Canada.
