RV Industry Association Updates List of Approved Third-Party Listing Agencies

The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has updated its list of recognized third-party listing agencies, adding three firms as part of its periodic review process tied to manufacturer compliance requirements.

The association said F2 Labs, TUV Rheinland of North America and Dekra were added in recent months to the “Recognized Listing Agencies” list used by member manufacturers to verify compliance with industry standards.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on May 7, the updated list took effect Sept. 1, 2024, and remains valid through Aug. 31, 2027. According to the association, the list was last audited in August 2024 as part of a review conducted every three years to confirm agencies maintain the required International Organization (IS) for Standardization certifications and meet approval standards.

Under the association’s membership requirements, manufacturers must pledge in writing to build recreational vehicles that conform to standards adopted by the organization. Those standards include requirements that certain equipment and materials used in RVs be “listed” by approved third-party agencies.

Manufacturers are also required to verify with the RVIA inspectors that the equipment and materials subject to listing requirements are identified by a third-party listing agency recognized by the association.

The updated list reflects additions made over the past several months following the audit and review process. The recognized agencies play a role in confirming that products and materials used in RV manufacturing meet applicable certification and compliance requirements outlined in the association’s standards program.

Headquartered in the Washington, D.C., area with additional offices in Elkhart, Indiana, the association represents more than 500 manufacturers and component and aftermarket suppliers. The association’s members produce 98% of all RVs manufactured in the United States and about 60% of RVs produced worldwide.

The association also serves as a trade organization representing the $140 billion RV industry and said it works with member companies to support industry growth and innovation across the outdoor recreation market.
