The Dyrt has released its 2026 Best Places to Camp With Kids, highlighting 10 campgrounds across the United States recognized for family-focused amenities and activities.
Presented in partnership with Kelty, the annual list identifies campgrounds that cater to younger campers while offering features that allow parents and guardians to engage in outdoor recreation. The recognition is based on ratings and feedback from The Dyrt’s user community.
The 2026 honorees include Normandy Farms Campground in Massachusetts; Greenbrier Campground in Tennessee; Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in Florida; Spacious Skies Bear Den in North Carolina; Dinosaur Valley State Park Campground in Texas; HTR Niagara Campground in New York; Camp A Way Campground in Nebraska; Ocean Lakes Family Campground in South Carolina; Jellystone Park Quarryville in Pennsylvania; and Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Minnesota.
According to The Dyrt, the selected locations offer a wide range of amenities designed for children, including playgrounds, fishing ponds, arcades and bounce houses, while also providing opportunities for adults to relax and participate in outdoor activities.
Kevin Long, CEO of The Dyrt, said the experience of camping at a young age can have a lasting impact.
“When you take your children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews camping, you’re quite possibly helping to create a lifelong camper,” Long said. “Once you get into adulthood, those camping memories are still so strong.”
Long added that modern campgrounds have expanded offerings to better serve families. “There’s just something about leaving home, staying at a campground and being outdoors all day and night. It’s freedom and adventure and so different from their everyday lives. Kids love it, and campgrounds these days are really going the extra mile,” he said.
The announcement noted that many of the listed campgrounds are located near major cities and tourist destinations, allowing families to combine outdoor stays with nearby attractions.
The Best Places to Camp With Kids is one of several themed recognitions released by The Dyrt, which draws from its user-generated data and reviews to identify trends and top destinations within the camping industry.
