National School of Outdoor Hospitality to Kick Off Feb. 22 in West Virginia

The 32nd annual George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality will convene February 22–27, at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia, bringing together campground owners, managers, and outdoor hospitality professionals for an intensive, in-person professional development program. 

The program aims to equip attendees with practical tools, strategic insight, and leadership skills needed to grow operations and advance careers in the expanding outdoor hospitality industry. 

Registration for the event remains open.

The George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality is widely recognized as one of the industry’s premier educational programs. Students participate in cohort-based learning led by instructors with extensive experience in campground operations, hospitality management, and industry consulting.

The curriculum combines operational expertise with strategic business guidance to help parks improve safety, profitability, and guest satisfaction.

“Attending the George O’Leary National School of Outdoor Hospitality in Wheeling, West Virginia, was an incredible experience,” Doug Davis, owner of Douglas Forest RV Resort and National School graduate, said in a press release.

The program offers two tracks tailored to different career stages. The Outdoor Hospitality Manager (OHM) Year One track focuses on foundational skills, including guest experience, leadership, financial basics, marketing, risk management, and operational systems that support safer, more profitable parks.

The Outdoor Hospitality Professional (OHP) Year Two track builds on that foundation, emphasizing long-term planning, capital investment, advanced leadership, risk resilience, and sustainable growth. Completion of OHM Year One is required for enrollment in Year Two.

Attendees also gain access to a diverse lineup of instructors and subject-matter experts, including executives, owners, and consultants. Profiles of the faculty are available on the event page and the Outdoor Hospitality Institute blog. 

To assist with employer approval, the program provides standard and customizable email templates to communicate the value of attending National School.
