REDARC, a power management and towing solutions company that designs products to help adventurers bring the comforts of modern living to remote locations, has introduced the Tow-Pro Link, a new electric brake controller designed to simplify trailer towing while expanding connected safety and control features through a dedicated Bluetooth remote and a smartphone app.
The company said the Tow-Pro Link is aimed at improving towing safety and convenience by combining plug-and-play installation with sway control technology and vehicle infotainment integration. The product announcement was issued Feb. 2.
The Tow-Pro Link is the newest addition to REDARC’s Tow-Pro family and includes a Bluetooth-enabled physical remote intended to provide braking control without requiring dash modifications, the company said.
The system also works with the Tow-Pro app and includes Apple CarPlay and Android integration, allowing users to view key information and access select controls through a vehicle’s existing infotainment system.
Through the Tow-Pro app, users can test trailer brake lights, adjust braking sensitivity and receive over-the-air updates via Bluetooth, according to the release.
The Tow-Pro Link is designed so essential functions remain accessible through the physical remote, rather than relying solely on a smartphone or infotainment system.
REDARC said it has updated its sway-control feature for the product. The Tow-Pro Link includes SwayStop Plus, which the company described as a one-touch trailer sway recovery feature that automatically applies the trailer’s brakes until sway stops, allowing drivers to keep hands on the wheel.
The controller also uses a built-in 6-axis sensor to continuously monitor movement and deliver responsive braking, the company said in a press release. The sensor measures pitch, roll and yaw in addition to forward and lateral movement, enabling earlier and more precise brake response than traditional single or dual-axis systems.
Installation is designed to take less than 15 minutes and does not require drilling or modifications to the vehicle’s dash or firewall, according to REDARC. The company said the Tow-Pro Link connects between the vehicle harness and the back of the standard 7-pin connector, while the Bluetooth remote head is powered via USB.
The Tow-Pro Link is 55% smaller than the leading competitor and includes a slim design with a waterproof IP rating, enabling multiple mounting options, including cable ties.
The product offers two braking modes: Everyday Mode for proportional braking in normal driving and Manual Offroad Mode for steep descents and uneven terrain.
“Whether you’re camping, overlanding, or touring REDARC ensures that you have the power to enjoy your outdoor experience with confidence,” the company states.
