Inland Northwest RV Show & Sale Starts Today

The 2022 Inland Northwest RV Show & Sale begins today and will continue until Sunday at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center (Washington).

Even though the 2021 show had to be canceled, dealers reported record-breaking sales throughout the entire year.

A report mentioned Jason Poole, the market vice president of Blue Dog RV in Post Falls. He said nearly every trailer was sold last year before making it to their lot. This was the most successful year of sales in the business’ 29 years of operation.

“We have never had sales to this level,” Poole said. “This was a monster compared to anything that was even close. In 2005 and 2006, we had a little, but not even close to what we see today.”

Parkway RV (Deer Park) Manager Thure Ahlquist said that the Inland Northwest RV Show, now in its 34th show, has drawn in most of his clients.

“Normally, the show for us anyway accounts in the long run for about 50% of our sales,” he said. “We sell at the show, and people all-year-round bring in brochures they got from the show.”

After a successful year, dealers will be all out for the event that begins today at the fairgrounds. Six dealers from the area will take over all nine buildings of the fairgrounds, the show’s organizer Steve Cody said.

He also confirmed that the show will bring back the cash machine, one of its popular attractions. Anyone who purchases an RV can get as much blowing cash they can in just 30 seconds.

“Every time that cash machine goes off, we get a crowd of people,” Cody said. “I’ve seen people spend $450,000 on a Class A motor home and then ask, ‘Do I get into the cash machine.’ “

Although other RV producers have been affected by supply-chain issues, RV dealers were able to replenish most of the inventory sold last year, Poole said.

“Inventory right now is the highest it’s been since COVID happened,” he said. “What we anticipate to see at the show is that pent-up demand. With travel restrictions, people are still choosing to purchase an RV and see what our local country looks like.”
