Virginia Campground Association Announces Updates Ahead of February Member Meeting

The Virginia Campground Association (VCA) is inviting members for its February 24 meeting.

The meeting, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jamestown–Yorktown Foundation, will incorporate survey feedback to highlight themes across campgrounds and guide discussion.

The association is conducting a brief online survey, estimated to take about two minutes, to collect input.

Results will be shared at a high-level, anonymized for issues for campgrounds during the session, allowing participants to see common challenges and opportunities within the industry.

“We’re rethinking how we approach VCA member meetings—starting with listening first,” the association said in its announcement. Members’ survey responses will directly shape the agenda and discussion topics.

The meeting is free for VCA members and includes a boxed lunch.

In addition to the member meeting, the association will represent Virginia campgrounds at the Richmond RV Show, scheduled for January 30 through February 1.

Campgrounds can submit one box of rack brochures at no charge for distribution during the event.

The association also highlighted legislative developments affecting campground operations. Operators that accept credit cards are encouraged to review the bipartisan Credit Card Competition Act, which seeks to increase competition among card networks and potentially reduce merchant swipe fees.

According to the announcement, OHI has been working with a coalition on the legislation for the past two years, and former President Donald Trump recently expressed support for the act.

The VCA initiative reflects a broader trend in the campground sector toward engaging operators directly in shaping programming and advocacy efforts.

By combining feedback-driven agenda planning with visibility at major industry events, the association aims to provide both operational guidance and policy updates relevant to Virginia campground owners.
