Vatrer Power has introduced a new 12V 300Ah lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery designed for recreational vehicle owners seeking higher energy capacity while minimizing storage space requirements.
The battery delivers 300 amp-hours of deep-cycle power in a compact design intended to reduce the space typically required for large battery banks in RVs and off-grid applications.
According to Vatrer Power, RV owners traditionally needing 300Ah of usable power often rely on three separate Group 31 100Ah batteries connected in parallel. The company said that setup requires additional cabling and occupies a significant portion of available battery compartment or storage space.
The new 12V 300Ah battery consolidates that capacity into a single unit. The design can free up more than 40% of the storage space compared with multi-battery configurations.
“Modern RVers want to run air conditioners, residential refrigerators, and high-draw appliances without turning their storage space into a crowded utility room,” a Vatrer Power spokesperson said in a press release.
“Our engineering team focused on volumetric efficiency. We wanted to deliver an uncompromising 300Ah of capacity in a footprint that easily frees up over 40% of the space compared to multi-battery banks, giving travelers their storage space back,” the spokesperson added.
The battery also incorporates Smart Self-Heating Technology aimed at addressing charging limitations associated with cold-weather conditions. Vatrer Power said lithium batteries can sustain damage if charged in sub-freezing temperatures.
According to the company, when ambient temperatures fall below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) and a charging current is applied, the battery’s internal management system redirects power to built-in heating pads. The system then warms the battery cells to charging temperatures and automatically shuts off once the required temperature threshold is reached.
Vatrer Power said the battery is equipped with a 200-amp Battery Management System, or BMS, designed to support continuous power output of 2,560 watts. The company said the system can accommodate high-demand electrical loads, including microwaves, coffee makers and air conditioning units commonly used in RVs.
The battery also features integrated Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Through the Vatrer smartphone application, users can monitor battery metrics including state of charge, voltage, cell temperature and cycle counts in real time.
Built with automotive-grade LiFePO4 cells, the battery is rated for more than 5,000 charge cycles at 80% depth of discharge, according to Vatrer Power. The company said the lifespan is up to 10 times longer than that of traditional lead-acid batteries.
