Thetford Expands RV Supply Reach with Acquisition of Dave Carter & Associates

Monomoy Capital Partners’ portfolio company Thetford Corporation has expanded its distribution capabilities in the recreational vehicle sector through the acquisition of Florida-based Dave Carter & Associates, Inc. (DCA), according to a company press release dated October 6, 2025.

The transaction effectively doubles Thetford’s global platform and broadens its footprint into the manufactured housing market.

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Thetford is a global supplier of sanitation and comfort products for RV and marine applications.

DCA, based in Ocala, Florida, distributes electrical, plumbing, and building supplies to RV and manufactured housing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) through 11 distribution centers across the United States and Canada.

Thetford said the acquisition strengthens its position in the North American market, the world’s largest for RV manufacturing, while adding complementary product lines and logistics infrastructure.

“Dave Carter & Associates has built an exceptional legacy of customer service and reliable logistics over nearly five decades,” said Thetford CEO Stéphane Cordeille in the October 6 release.

“By combining DCA’s distribution infrastructure with Thetford’s product portfolio, we can provide builders and OEMs—many of whom are customers of both companies—with a more comprehensive product offering.”

Monomoy Capital Partners, which invested in Thetford in December 2021, said the acquisition aligns with its strategy of building value in middle-market industrial and consumer product companies.

“DCA’s nearly 50 years of distribution expertise and established customer relationships create a significant value creation opportunity that can enable enhanced service levels and product offerings benefiting builders and OEMs across both industries,” said Justin Hillenbrand, founding partner and co-CEO of Monomoy Capital Partners, in the same release.

The combined organization shifts Thetford’s geographic mix toward the United States and enhances its ability to serve OEM customers through improved logistics and a broader parts catalog.

The company said the deal supports its “strategic evolution toward world-class product design and distribution,” strengthening its role as a full-service supplier to manufacturers in the RV and manufactured housing sectors.

For industry suppliers, the acquisition could streamline sourcing and inventory management across product categories, as OEMs gain access to expanded distribution channels and consolidated procurement for plumbing, electrical, and sanitation systems.

It may also create opportunities for closer coordination in component standardization and after-sales support.

Thetford did not disclose the purchase price or any planned changes to DCA’s operations or leadership.

Ropes & Gray LLP served as legal counsel to Monomoy and Thetford, and Houlihan Lokey acted as financial advisor to DCA, according to the October 6 announcement.
